Our Journey

In a way, our story started before we even knew it, and we have the photo to prove it.

 

Two babies at MyGym, sitting with our moms, completely unaware that the person beside us would one day become the most important person in our lives.

 

We grew up in the same world but didn't truly find each other until senior year of high school, when friendship pulled us together. Looking back, we think God knew exactly what He was doing even when we didn't. ​

 

Austin asked Hayley to help edit his college essays together... a move that fooled absolutely no one. What followed was less essay writing and more the kind of conversation that makes you lose track of time entirely— laughing, poking fun at each other's personal statements, and somewhere in between, Hayley looking across the table and feeling something she couldn't name. Like she had known this person her whole life, and had only just realized it.

But life had other plans first.

 

College took them different directions, and distance has a way of testing what's real. When Hayley moved to Charleston, the miles only made one thing clearer: she left the better part of her heart in Virginia Beach. So she came home. 

​

Our story is a not a perfect one. There has been hard, there has been growth, and we are so grateful for all of it. It is in the imperfect places that we have seen God's faithfulness most clearly.

 

And in between all of it? So much FUN, laughing, learning, listening, forgiving, and lots of "wow, can you believe we get to marry the person we've known our whole lives?!"

We love each other so much and cannot wait for this next chapter of life together.
